It’s no secret that I love jumpsuits. They’re easy and fashion-forward, and wearing one evokes the effortlessly cool vibe of someone who cares about fashion, but not enough to put too much thought in to an outfit. I have jumpsuits of all kinds hanging in my closet, but it never seems like enough! That’s why I’m glad the look is still trending for SS14- if the latest Paris runways are any indication.
My favorite jumpsuit walked down the rocker-chic Balmain runway. Their version was reminiscent of a mechanic’s jumpsuit (snap-up front closure, long sleeves), but was executed in a super-luxe quilted leather. Yes, please!
Lanvin did a few amazing jumpsuits as well- but the best of the bunch was their metallic bronze interpretation, which had a rocker-meets-astronaut vibe. I’d wear this baby for a night out on the town with the girls.
Barbara Bui showed a super-wearable version in head-to-toe orange. Its strong shoulders and deep v neck recalled 80s glamour in a modern way, and I could see this piece taking me from mornings at the shop to a lunch meeting to nighttime cocktails with my fiance. A must-have!
Which one is your favorite?
