stylehaus has some amazing pieces in right now, and I’m in the process of whittling down my wishlist. I can’t decide between my two favorite pieces- I think I’m gonna have to just get them both!
What I love about the stylehaus selection is that every piece manages to be both on-trend and out-of-the-ordinary- which isn’t easy. When I curate the clothes, shoes, and accessories that we carry in our shop, I’m always looking for things that are cutting-edge yet still accessible and easy to wear. The last thing I want to do is intimidate a client with over-the-top fashion that can’t be worn in everyday life; what I do want to do is inspire my clients to take their fashion game up a notch and try things that they never thought could work. I think the latest round of stylehaus pieces hits this nail on the head!
I obsessed over the Victorian looks in the Marc Jacobs SS14 show so much that I had to track down the perfect Victorian-inspired blouse to stock at stylehaus for Fall, a season ahead of the trend. I love when my clients & I are ahead of the fashion game! This top ($150) perfectly mixes high-fashion attributes with wearability: its collar is high but not 1800s-high, the shoulders are very subtley exaggerated, and the peplum hem keeps the look modern. I’ll wear this with leather skinnies, but you could go for a full-on Marc look with Bermuda shorts instead!
Another piece I’m loving right now is our bondage-chic pencil dress ($230). Bondage-themed pieces and 80s gear were both featured heavily on the SS14 runways, and I think this dress incorporates the two in a fresh way. The chest cutouts and panels are very early-Madonna, and sheer paneling throughout the bodice evokes a boudoir feel. Since the length of the dress is modest, though, it doesn’t come off too sexy- just sexy enough. You could even do the 90s thing (a la Theysken’s Theory) and layer a thin long-sleeved tee underneath!
What do you think- do I just need to take the plunge and get both? If you can’t choose either, you can snag these guys for yourself at stylehaus, or call 323-655-5900 to order!
