As leather pants are one of my favorite staple items, I was excited to see that a new kind of leather pant was rocking the spring 2013 runways. This time, we’re seeing the relaxed, tailored pant with a leather twist to it, now baggier than ever. This leather look combines a men’s-inspired appeal with a feminine touch, and looks amazing paired with a blazer or tuxedo jacket! I am instantly drawn to the mix of comfort and high fashion of this style, making them the perfect pant for both casual daytime wear and evening attire. The Balmain runway combined the pants with three noteworthy spring runway trends: the peek-a-boo midriff top, statement belt, and cutout heels, taking this whole look to a new level of perfection. Black leather is a great staple item to have because of its versatility, and these pants would look great with a variety of tops: throw on a t-shirt, leather jacket, blouse, or pair with an oversized jean shirt for edgy street style. I love the colored ones too, for an added jolt of color that adds something fun and unexpected to an outfit.
