Following the controversial change of brand name from Yves Saint Laurent to Saint Laurent last year, all eyes have been on the brand to see how their image will be shaped and affect the product of their designs. When all is said and done, it has to come down to the clothes, and the fall 2013 Saint Laurent runway delivered during Paris Fashion Week. Going for a chic-meets-grunge feel, Saint Laurent featured plenty of leather, embellished dresses, patterned tights, floral, and flannel for unexpected combinations of textures and patterns. Described as “Grunge Nouvea”, the Saint Laurent collection highlighted mixing and matching unanticipated styles together, and definitely had a younger, more modern feel than the past runway shows that YSL has delivered. While the runway featured edgy and playful looks for fall, I can’t help wonder if the classic, modern designs that were associated with YSL are gone along with the name.

What do you think of Saint Laurent’s fall line?
