Runway Recap: Zadig & Voltaire

I was so impressed by the SS14 Zadig & Voltaire show.  A relatively new label (launched in ’97 but only shoppable in the US since 2009), Zadig & Voltaire has really been stepping up their game lately.  They’ve steadily moved from womens wear to menswear to children’s wear and, most recently, to fragrance- a marking of a true high-end brand!  To me, their latest runway show at Paris Fashion Week cemented the line’s status as a heavy-hitter in the fashion world.

Z&V hit on every single emerging trend in their SS14 presentation, but still managed to tell a cohesive story with their clothing.  An overall badass-rocker vibe radiated from sheer separates, leather accents, Bermuda shorts, fringed pieces, jumpsuits, 90s layering, and fishnets—see what I’m saying about hitting on every trend??  The Zadig & Voltaire designer was seriously on point!

All the looks were super wearable, as well.  I love when I can pluck a piece straight off the runway and wear it as-is!  I could see myself rocking the Z&V shorts suit or sheer-sweater-and-printed-pants combo right now, and I’ll probably recreate these looks on my own before the Z&V SS14 line hits stores.  I just can’t wait!

Are you as impressed as I am?
