Runway Recap: Fausto Puglisi

When the Spring 2014 shows were happening, I introduced you guys to my new favorite designer: Fausto Puglisi.  His “Axl-Rose-meets-Carolina-Herrera” vibe felt fresh and authentic, and I fell in love with his feminine rocker collection.  Fast-forward to Pre Fall 2014, and Fausto’s done it again!  The whole Pre Fall look book is to die for, but I’m particularly in love with his artful colorblocking and his spotted separates.

While you’ll very rarely see me in a dress or skirt, I’d make an exception for these babies.  The teal/orange/black color combination on this mod little swing dress is so on-trend, but still feels edgy.  I love how Puglisi styled these looks with socks & heels (a huge trend right now)- I’d wear this dress with my new teal booties from Barney’s though!

And his colorful bomber jacket- be still my beating heart.  This would be the perfect piece to inject some color into my neutral wardrobe!

Wearing Fausto’s clothes doesn’t mean sacrificing my love of skinny jeans though- he sprinkled a few pairs of denim and leather throughout the latest collection.  Dappled black and blue skinnies look super-cool when cuffed, and leather skinnies get the 80s treatment from an oversized blazer.  I’m glad to see the bra top trend isn’t going anywhere soon too; I’m dying to try the look a la Puglisi- with an oversized leather jacket on top.

What’s your favorite piece of the Puglisi collection?
