Isabel Marant traditionally has featured a theme on the Parisian runways during Fashion Week, but her Fall/Winter 2013 collection was more toned down this year.

Marant highlighted super tight, layered knitwear in black, navy, and cream for her daytime pieces, and for evening, focused on heavy embellished jackets worn above tight trousers. Her color palette stuck to darker tones appropriate for fall and winter, and then added studs, beautiful pops of white and those couture wedge sneakers that I love so much. Marant’s fall take on her well-known wedge bootie was covered with tufts of shiny fur then wrapped in straps of Velcro, and are great for a day-to-night fashion-forward look. On her overall collection, Marant said she was inspired “…by those miserable days and nights in winter when you don’t want to go outside . . . No matter where you are—a party, a friend’s house, or back outside where it’s cold—I wanted it to be easy to adjust from that cold, awful weather to being inside and looking great the whole time.”

While the collection as a whole was not overly unique, it did feature some fabulous studded statement pieces, and the shoes in particular were must-haves! What do you think of Marant’s fall collection?
