I know fall seems like a ways away, but I had to take a sneak peek at the Pre-Fall Collections for 2013—how could I miss a chance to see the newest looks from my favorite designers? I loved Saint Laurent’s rock ‘n’ roll vibe, complete with black leather jackets, sheer lace, and fur coats. I am a sucker for all of those in any collection, so naturally Saint Laurent was once of my favorites so far! 3.1 Phillip Lim had bright pops of turquoise and green throughout their collection, which nicely broke up the darker tops and bottoms. Color-blocking is surely a trend that will stick around for fall, and I loved the pleated skirts and oversized-yet-structured feel of the clothing. The contrast of colors and materials made the collection completely unique and yet very true to what I know and love about Phillip Lim. And last but not least, the epic Alexander McQueen collection took us through fairy-tale books and stories of far-away lands, with beautiful robes, lace gowns, and fur dresses inspired by queens and medieval royalty. The collection had touches of sinister edge, and I couldn’t help but think of how much these pieces reminded me of many classic fairy tales such as Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White! Overall, I am excited for fall 2013 and can’t wait to rock some of these looks myself!
