Normally one watch is enough for me but when Nick Von K, my fave jewelry designer from New Zealand, came out with a line of watches I had no choice but to double up! His rock-and-roll timepieces are so my style: edgy, eye-catching, yet simple enough to go with everything.
Nick Von K has been in the jewelry world for a while, making a name for himself with his one-of-a-kind aesthetic. He uses some crazy materials to craft his pieces, like deer antlers and mammoth ivory, and loves working with natural stones and sterling silver. Here are some of my all-time fave Nick Von K gems:
This “Alley Cat” ring is so bad-ass/adorable! The boxing gloves pendant is a great mix of tough and delicate- I’d wear it with a super-feminine, low cut top. This skeleton necklace is hand-carved from deer antlers- what?! And this intricately detailed Emperor Moth ring is beyond gorgeous- I love the glowing moonstones.
After being acquainted with these pieces, you can image how excited I was when I heard Nick Von K was launching a collection of watches. Like I said, I couldn’t stop at one and had to get myself the lion watch and the wings watch. Here, I wore them with a printed bomber jacket, waxed denim, and some super-high Walter Steiger heels.
I love the old-school motorcycle gang vibes of these watches- the perfect complement to my usual uniform of leather-on-leather! If you want to grab yourself a Nick Von K watch (or two), click here.
