What To Wear On New Year’s Eve

We’re almost halfway through December, which means it’s time to start planning New Year’s Eve outfits!  I feel like 2014 totally snuck up on me- normally, I have my holiday outfits planned out way in advance.  The rest of my staff at stylehaus is feeling the same way, so I helped stylehaus stylist Janelle put together a few looks.  She didn’t know whether she wanted to go full-on-glam or keep it a little more casual this year, so I came up with two totally different outfits for her to choose from!

If Janelle decides she wants to get all dressed up for the big night, I recommended this sequin-covered body con dress.  It has a high neckline and scooped back, which is perfect for dancing- it shows some skin, but there’s no danger of any wardrobe malfunctions on the dance floor!  To give Janelle some edge, I added a fringed leather bag and black booties.  Fringe is totally on-trend right now and adds a modern touch to this 70s-esque outfit.  Love!

Janelle usually isn’t a dress girl, so if she’s feeling a little more low-key on NYE she’ll reach for this look instead.  Leather jogging pants are an ultra-cool alternative to a dress, and a fitted peplum top adds some feminine curves to the slouchy slacks.  Of course, every outfit needs a little sparkle on New Year’s Eve, so I added metallic high-tops for an unexpected dose of shimmer.   The finishing touch was a bad-ass choker necklace covered in gems.

Which one do you think Janelle should wear?  I’m hoping she goes with the gold dress…cause I kind of want to steal the leather look for myself.  If you want to wear either of these options on New Year’s Eve, you can get them at stylehaus!
