While I am looking forward to Topshop’s arrival at The Grove on Valentine’s Day, I am more excited about their second collaboration with JW Anderson launching February 13th. Combining his signature quirky patterns and motifs with Topshop’s British-inspired style, Anderson has filled this specialty line with cartoon-printed sweaters, letterman jackets (a big trend for spring), fringe argyle sweaters, and shift dresses. “I think [this collaboration] still has the same story-telling element [as my ready-to-wear line],” Anderson told Vogue UK, adding “It’s for the same girl and is based upon the same idea. I feel collaborations should be a reflection, not something that veers off into another zone. The high street and the luxury market are inherently close. Without one the other doesn’t exist. I feel like that is modernity now.” Anderson accomplished just that, by combining affordable British fashion with award-winning designs and creativity for pieces that are wearable for a multitude of occasions. Anderson brought a new element of creativity to this already well-known international phenomenon, and his creations are about to make the streets of London and America that much more fashion-filled!
