It’s rather apparent to many people how much I love leather. So I was very excited to see plenty of leather accents and details on the fall 2013 runways! Each designer managed to transform this classic and sleek material and really give it their own spin. Leather harnesses are big for this season, so I wasn’t that surprised to spot these vixen accessories on the catwalk at the Prabal Gurung show. Rebecca Taylor sported some knitted pieces which had mosaic inspired leather quilting. From far away the leather looks almost like beading, but the closer you got to the item, the more you could tell that it was just exquisite leather! Belstaff opted to apply leather detailing to the elbows of their jackets and coats. Texture-blocking was a major trend this past fall and winter and it looks like it was integrated into the fall 2013 season as well! Herve Leger, Diane von Furstenberg and BCBG used leather accents in their accessories, whether it was the trimming on a baseball style cap, woven into a braided belt and cinched over a gown or spotted on modern clutches, these designers used leather in the most creative ways!
