Designer To Watch: Fausto Puglisi

I have a new obsession: designer Fausto Puglisi.  The other day he showed his first collection at Milan Fashion Week, and I am head over heels in love with each and every look that walked down his runway!  Puglisi stated that his collection was “Carolina Herrera meets Axl Rose,” and that inspiration definitely spoke to the audience.  A mix of tropical prints, preppy basics, badass leathers, and punky buckle detailing made for a collection full of wearable pieces styled to perfection.   Puglisi celebrated the feminine silhouettes that are so often lost in the more hardware-heavy, rocker-inspired collections; which is sure to make him one of the industry’s favorite new designers.  I can’t wait to pick up my first Puglisi pieces!

Since this amazing collection won’t hit stores until the Spring, I’m going to get the look with pieces from stylehaus in the meantime.

Our anything-but-basic leather jackets (4, 5) will be on heavy rotation in my closet through winter; I love the little details on these babies.  The black paneled leather jacket even reminds me of the buckle-heavy bandage tops from Fausto Puglisi!  The blue version will be versatile throughout the year, too- its sleeves zip off to turn into a vest for warmer days.  To echo the feminine silhouettes of the runway, I’ll turn to this leather a-line skirt (2)- edgy and girly at the same time!  I’m not sure I’ll ever be bold enough to rock Puglisi’s actual bandage tops; this leather bralette from stylehaus (1) is the closest I’ll get.  It’s perfect with a high-waisted skirt or underneath a sheer blouse.  This flippy minidress (3) is a great feminine piece to toughen up with leather separates.  I’m going to try it with a studded leather belt and heels, a la Puglisi.

So…are you as obsessed as I am??  If you’re dying to get the Fausto Puglisi look ASAP, stop by stylehaus and I’ll style you up!
