I’ve never really been one to wear pink- the saccharine connotation isn’t my thing. Lately I’ve been changing my tune though, as evidenced by my last couple of blog posts with Olga. Her girly style must bring it out of me!
I’m always amazed that Olga & I are consistently drawn to the same pieces even though our styles are so different. It just goes to show that anyone can wear anything- it’s all about how you style it. Olga and I have different body types too and we dress to fit them- she has a more feminine figure so she does an A-line dress with the jacket, while I have a shorter torso with long legs so I wear a long tank under the jacket to elongate my torso and then pair it with my fav skinny jeans!
Since I shy away from uber-feminine looks, I paired my Camilla and Marc pink striped jacket with fire-engine red. I love this unexpected combination! To me, pink and red balance each other out: the tough, dramatic attitude of red is tempered by pink’s sweetness, and vice versa.
If you dare to try mixing these bright colors, make sure the rest of your look relies on neutral pieces! I wore my pink and red with basic denim and a mostly-neutral Celine bag.
Olga ended up loving the same Camilla and Marc jacket that I wore and had to have it for herself too! As we all know, Olga is a classic girly-girl, so this matching Camilla and Marc dress was the perfect choice to compliment her jacket. A pop of grass green (via her bag and necklace) provided a bit of contrast in an otherwise coordinated look. Ever the princess, Olga also added a crown-like headband to the mix.
Isn’t it cool how two girls can rock the same piece in such different ways? If you want to put your own spin on this jacket, stop by stylehaus and try it on!
