Beauty of the Day

One of the best things about being on set for a photo shoot is having access to a professional makeup artist.  For me, makeup is one of the defining factors of my personal style: every outfit is finished off with my signature smoky eye.  So  new insider tips & tricks for upping my makeup game are always welcome!

During my latest turn in the makeup chair I learned two great tricks I’m going to be including in my daily routine.  One: it’s all about highlighter.  I’m not much for contouring everyday with highlighter/bronzer, but I think dabbing highlighter in the inner corners of my eyes from now on is a must!  A liquid highlighter (like YSL Touche Eclat) brightened up my whole face with just a little dab.

Two: eyebrows are SO important.  Thick, dark eyebrows are very on-trend right now, and there’s no reason for brunettes to have all the fun.  If you’re blond (like me) and want to try the dramatic eyebrow look, fill in your brows with a brow powder 1 or 2 shades darker than your natural color.  The result is bold without being too in-your-face, and I’m going to continue using Urban Decay’s Brow Box in Honey Pot on the regular.

What are your everyday makeup tricks?
