The Canyons

Olga and I can’t get enough of Clover Canyon.  We’ve posed in CC outfits for the blog before, but it never gets old- every piece they come out with feels fresh and fashion-forward. The prints are so cool that they inspire me to step out of my basic uniform of black tanks and skinny jeans- and that’s saying a lot!

While I don’t normally wear dresses or skirts during the day (or ever, for that matter) the neoprene material that Clover dresses are made of (fun fact: what scuba suits are made of) is super comfy– maybe even more comfortable than my worn-in denim.  In contrast to the clingy stretch cotton that most bodycon dresses feature, neoprene is thick and slimming; the material glides over and smoothes curves like a dream.

This magic material is why Olga, who normally prefers fit-and-flare styles that flatter her hourglass shape, feels comfortable wearing her tight pencil-cut dress.  Neoprene hugs her curves in the best ways!

I went for the Clover Canyon 2 piece set instead of a full-on dress, since I have a long torso and crop tops and high-waisted bottoms break up my long frame.  This shirt and skirt work together to carve out an hourglass shape for me- the same way a belt does when added to a dress!

These outfits are super-bright, but that didn’t stop Olga and I from piling on the neon accessories as well!  More is more, right?  I opted for a pink spiked shoulder bag, and Olga grabbed the highlighter-yellow clutch instead.  These bags are the perfect combo of girly and edgy, which sums up my style pretty perfectly.

The finishing touches were some Shorouk rings for both of us, Jimmy Choo shoes for Olga and Brian Atwood pumps for myself.  I went for a black mani so that my rocker side wasn’t completely lost :)

I love taking a break from my everyday outfits with Olga- she usually dresses up every day, so it’s nice to be on the same page!  What do you guys think of our printed looks?  Would you wear them like this, or tone them down with neutral accessories?
